In order to launch a dynamic retargeting ad campaign you will need to provide a product feed in Google Merchant format. Each offer of the feed must be represented by the fields from the following table:
Field Name |
Type |
Description |
id (max size: 100) |
string |
A unique identifier for this item (which can be a variant for a product). If there are multiple instances of the same ID, all of those entries will be ignored. This maps to retailer_id after the product has been imported. |
availability |
string |
Whether or not the item is in stock. Accepted values are: in stock — item will ship immediately. out of stock — no plan to restock. preorder — will be available in future. available for order — ships in 1-2 weeks. |
condition |
string |
The condition of the product. Accepted values are new, refurbished, or used. |
description (max size: 5000) |
string |
A short paragraph describing the item. |
image_link |
string |
Link to an image of the item. This is the image used in the feed. Please note that carousel format utilises a square 1:1 aspect ratio image (600x600px) while single product ad uses 1.91:1 aspect ratio image (1200x630px). Please provide the proper images in the feed which will best fit your need. |

string |
Link to the merchant's site where you can buy the item. |
title (max size: 100) |
string |
The title of the item. |

The cost of the item and currency. Currency should be specified as the ISO 4217 currency code e.g. 9.99 USD. |
gtin, mpn or brand (max size: 70) |
string |
gtin — the Global Trade Item Number (GTINs) can include UPC, EAN, JAN, and ISBN. mpn — the number which uniquely identifies the product to its manufacturer. brand — the name of the brand. Note: Either gtin, mpn, or brand are required. |
To check a feed's validity, open a product catalog which you were given access to:
Next open 'Product Feeds' tab:
Push the "Add Product Feed". You will see the following form:
1) "Feed Name" field — desired feed's name which will be shown in the catalog.
2) In "Feed URL" field you put a link to your feed.
3) By default the feed's update period is set to 'Daily' - it is the recommended period, please, do not change it if it is not necessary.
4) In order to start feed's uploading to the catalog press the "Schedule Upload" button.
When feed uploading to the catalog is finished, you will receive a notification with a link to the feed. If you click on this link, you will see the feed verification status showing the amount of products have been added to catalog, what errors or warnings occur. Here is an example of such statistics:
If you click on 'Products' tab, you will see which products have been uploaded to the feed:
By tapping on a product image you may check which parameters were extracted for this product. We recommend paying attention to these parameters:
- availability — if this parameter has a value out of stock, such product won't be shown in your ad.
- price — if you don't specify a value of parameter currency, by default it is set to USD. That might be the reason of displaying the price in USD instead of your desired currency. This problem can be easily solved by explicitly setting currency in the feed.
After you check that your products uploaded correctly and the amount of uploaded products equals amount of products in the feed, you will be able to use uploaded feed to launch dynamic retargeting campaign.
If you need to launch dynamic retargeting campaign on Instagram, please check that your images' size in the feed is at least 600х600px.
There also is a special tool to check the image sizes of products in a product catalog. After clicking on the link push the 'Log In To Try The Sample' button:
Choose your Business Manager which contains your product catalog with your feed, catalog id, and amount of products images of which you want to check:
After pushing the 'Check Product Images' button you will see the check result:
Here you can find all information about Dynamic Ads.
